The Slipstream
Of Love
I awoke
from a dream
Only to be
cast into loves slipstream
It was filled
with broken hearts that bled of black ink
Destined
for a hole at the bottom of life’s sink
Stained
were the walls of this downward spiral
Like a song
on side B that skipped on black vinyl
Oh how I
wish it would snow a white, white world again
Lite by
Dawn’s first light and free from emotional pain
Where I
just might ride upon the wings of grace
And feed
upon the love written on a snow angel’s face
She would lift
me up from the bottom of the drain
Cleansing
my heart of the blackened ink stain
Coloring my
sky once again with shades of blues and pinks
And until
this day will come upon
I’ll dream
of home and a green, green lawn
While I hum
a tune that will echo into space
In hopes
that she will send her grace
To save me from this morbid place

Slipstream Of Love
