CONDEM-NATiON

CONDEM-NATION

The tree of life turned upside-down
Past exhumed from depleted ground
Tangled roots perplexing thee
A second chance to be set free

Criticizing this thing anew
To be or not to be untrue
Looking through its silhouette
Trapped inside its choking net

Truth and time crammed in a box
Broken minds and melted clocks
 Front to back forward facing
Fading dreams forever chasing
A place where life can never grow
A restless grave of dreadful foe

So, I stepped the line beyond the brink
Bestowed with light, ......I began to think

I wrote about peculiar things
Like people made of bits of rubber
With hollow bones encased in blubber
Brains and souls were non-existent
Hearts replaced with revving pistons

Rotting roots that nobody see's
Life dispensed from vending machines
An eternal world of condem-nation
Resurrected dead with sick fixation

Front to back forward facing
Fading dreams forever chasing
A place where life can never grow
A restless grave of dreadful foe

So. I stepped the line beyond the brink
Bestowed with light, ......I began to think

I wrote about peculiar things
Skulls that looked like dripping sieves
Numb to love life freely gives
Upside-down nations with bleeding knees
Hiding in boxes and hording cheese

Rotting roots that nobody see's
Life dispensed from vending machines
An eternal world of condem-nation
Resurrected dead with sick fixation

The tree of life turned upside down
Will it ever grow right side round
