Caught In The Middle
Version One
I'm caught in the middle of famine and feast
Bumping heads with beauty and bewildering beast
I'm damned if I do and damned if I don't
My mother keeps says to put on a coat
So I won't catch walloping death of a cold
While Dad grumbles words that Disciples once told
I'll call it a day and flip on a coin
Drink the red wine and dine on some loin
Have my fair share of the pudding and pie
I'll be Labeled in vain, what a good boy am I
Then in the end how would I feel
After I settle for something not real
I want what is best for them both don't you see
I'm caught in the middle, please let me be free
I'll break the mirror and calm the beast
So upon my soul it will not feast
Between you and me
Is not a good place to be
